We posted this one previously but I figured it would be great to remind everyone! Starting the new year is a great time to get your financial house in order. Remember, this is the ONLY real site for a free credit report. I’ve put it in the Freebies and Deals tab in case you need to come back to it.
Here is the official Government site that has a link to the free annual credit report Federal Trade Commission Site. It’s confusing because so many sites say free but once you actually click on it you find out there are strings attached.
This is the official site and I have done this myself, it takes a little time to set up they have to verify that you are who you say you are and you have to set up a username and password but that’s only once and then you can log in every year to get your report. If you’ve never seen your credit report before you should do this, sometimes you find mistakes and some are fairly easy to get fixed but you don’t know until you look at it.
