For the longest time I would take meat out of the freezer and thaw it in the fridge before I put it into the crockpot so I had to plan ahead and remember to take the meat out and then a friend told me that you don’t have to thaw it out, just put it right in the crockpot frozen. I tried it and it works, just add a little extra cooking time. This morning I put a (frozen) pork roast in the crockpot from a whole pork loin that I cut up, see my tutorial How to get 5 meals out of a whole pork loin. I added some cumin, garlic, salt, pepper, my plan is to shred it and make enchiladas for dinner tonight. I’ll post it tonight, I’m going to try to make it one of my $5.00 Meals, we’ll see if I can do it.
