Turkey Burgers Corn and Tater Tots for $5.79

This is another example of a $5 meal, you’ll find we have more lots more ideas here $5 Meal Ideas. Turkey Burgers with all the fixings, Fresh Cilantro Corn on the Cob, and Tater Tots. I try to stay within $5 when I make a meal for my family of 3. It all starts with the meat if I can get an cheap price on pork or chicken, in this case, it’s ground turkey. I don’t buy ground beef, there’s nothing wrong with it, I just don’t like the flavor.

Sometimes Ground Turkey can be kind of bland by itself, for burgers I add a little bit of Onion Soup Mix. I buy it in bulk for pennies. We put it in burgers or make our own French onion dip just add sour cream. It’s very versatile and when you buy it in bulk it’s so inexpensive compared to buying the box with 2 packets in it.

Here’s how I make Turkey Burgers Corn and Tater Tots for $5.79

1 lb Turkey Burger $1.66, Here’s how I get Ground Turkey for $1.66 per meal

Store bought buns $ .99

First of the Season Corn on the Cob 3/$1.00 I bought 3 ears

1/2 Package Frozen Tater Tots $.89

$ .50 Tomato

$ .50 Assorted fixings, pickle, lettuce, onion,

$ .25 Cilantro

Total $5.79,  A burger each for the 3 of us and 1 burger leftover! I added some onion soup mix to the turkey burger for flavor and I chopped up some fresh cilantro and mixed it with some homemade butter for the corn, it was awesome.

Do you buy cilantro, I love having a bunch of cilantro around. It’s like parsley but has a little zing to it. You have to wash it very well and pick out a lot of the thicker stems so it takes a little work but so worth it. You can put cilantro on anything, I make a cold salad that is black beans, rice, corn tomatoes, and cilantro, I usually make balsamic vinegar type dressing for it.
